A) Imagine you really love some dear folks who show up very rarely and maybe that’s why you even love them more. And just when you almost forget they exist they appear again from nowhere, unannounced but naturally with a seismic bang. Be prepared for a fierce sonic embrace that takes the breath away until blackout and a passionate, cordial punch in the gut that hits so hard it hurts severely and leaves a bruise of bass and love forever.

That’s the return of the “emotional maximum” by Narcotic Syntax, formerly known for releases on the notorious Perlon label. Here, on Logistic Records, armed with a tremendous arsenal of provocative percussion, their thunderous uproar marks a new dimension on the Richter scale of Hypnobeat and West Coast House.

B) On another stunning mission, Narcotic Syntax navigate “The Thanatonautes” by Minsk-based garage Blues Rock trio Sang Sattawood on a swinging narco drive through granular dreamscapes. Their remix makes the romantic mysticism of the original song bounce like hearts full of anticipation. This way, the soundtrack to a road movie about those who voluntarily risk their lives to discover the mysteries of death induces a surprising plot twist. Which goes straight into the aneasthetic recovery room to keep the spirit of the narcoverse alive that resounds with the manifold vital musical influences of their creators.

James Dean Brown, an experienced storyteller as a DJ, producer, music consultant, copywriter, and concept developer, performed countless venues from North Norway to Japan and is a DJ regular in the line-up of Perlon’s monthly, celebrated "Get Perlonized" parties at Panorama Bar since 2001.

Founding Hypnobeat in the early 80s, he reduced electronics to a hypnotic rhythm core which put the project on the front-line of sonic innovation before Techno was even a thing. Evolving from Hypnobeat, JDB formed Narcotic Syntax with Zip in 1996 to finally boost the name together with Yapacc in 2003, with releases on Perlon, WIR, and Prospector one of which appeared in Ricardo Villalobos’ annual chart of favourites. After all, Narcotic Syntax retransformed into Hypnobeat in 2012, becoming an exciting new evolution with Helena Hauff joining JDB for live performances at many international festivals.

The new Narcotic Syntax release on Logistic Records goes now full circle, transplanting a few Hypnobeat signature programmings into its A-side’s monster genetics.

Yapacc, a multi-instrumentalist, producer, label owner and performer with 250+ releases, has been keeping the electronic music scene on tenterhooks since the early 1990s. His live performances are legendary, electrifying a crowd far beyond the after-hours. Besides, the maestro of guitars, basses, keyboards, and hundreds of music plug-ins is the founder of the synthesizer module company Rides in the Storm which enjoys highest reputation in the international modular community – also Daniel Miller of Mute Records is a fan. Previously, Yapacc developed analogue synthesizers and drum computers for the cult synthesizer manufacturer MFB – Manfred Fricke Berlin.
